e-Travel from A to Z
What is e-Travel and how can you use its benefits
to your advantage?
To start off, e-Travel is not really a fixed
term. We use it here to group all of the various
interactive options that travellers have at this
moment.
These days, it is already very easy to complete
all of the steps in a travel process online:
- pre-trip planning and information lookup
- travel reservation
- itinerary follow-up
- ticketing
- check in
- frequent flyer mileage claim
- ...
Of course, American Express and its partners
offer all of these services right now!

e-Ticketing
e-Ticketing is a very important innovation in
the travel industry and one that American Express
is fully committed to.
Not only is an e-Ticket easier to use, but it
is also cheaper. It cannot be lost, stolen or
forgotten, etc.

e-Itinerary
Usually when a ticket is issued, you receive
a paper copy of your travel itinerary with your
invoice.
But there are other ways of accessing your itinerary.
Amadeus, our reservation system partner, offers
a solution called Checkmytrip. Via the Checkmytrip
website (checkmytrip.com)
you can access your itinerary online.
Whenever changes are made to your reservation,
they will reflect immediately in your online itinerary.
Access is very simple. Just surf to www.checkmytrip.com,
enter your name and PNR-number (this is your reservation
number which you will get from your travel agent)
and you can see your booked travel arrangements
online.
Checkmytrip offers a number of other tools and
links which are very useful to the business traveller.
You also have the possibility to print your
itinerary or a paper receipt for your e-ticket.

e-check in

at the check-in desks to get their boarding pass.
They can collect them from automated check-in
machines.
